Study of symbiotic flows with economic approach

Abstract : At the present, there is a need to give further importance to circular economy and its resulting methods such as the industrial symbiosis (IS), to reduce dependency on raw materials, and to encourage optimal resource use and recycling. That is the reason why, in this paper, we propose an approach to highlight the establishment of an IS in the East of France. We identify potential flows and we study the potential gains obtained under different strategies by participating in the symbiosis. We propose a mathematical model in order to identify for firms involved the interest of the participation in the IS given different costs and earnings, considering economic, societal and environmental impacts. The proposed model is based on an economic approach etc.
