Interaction d'impulsions laser-ultra courtes et ultra-intenses avec un plasma.

Abstract : Different aspects of the interaction of ultra-short pulse and ultra-intense under-dense plasma were studied analytically and numériquement.Ces studies are of interest for laser particle acceleration in plasmas, laser ray X, the generation of high-order harmonics, the concept of fast ignition for inertial confinement fusion. We used the relativistic particle code WAKE previously developed at the Ecole Polytechnique. This code has been amended during the thesis process for the movement of ions, to calculate the trajectories of electrons tests, and to include various diagnoses on the fields and particles. The matters discussed in this thesis are the following: acceleration of photons in the wake of a short laser pulse and intense, the phase velocity of the plasma wave in the wake of a self-modulated laser pulse, the drain relativistic laser pulse duration of the order of the plasma period, the ion dynamics in the wake of the flood. Then we simulated three experiments of wave propagation and laser acceleration of electrons. The main findings of the thesis: The reduction of the phase velocity of the plasma wave in the case of a self-modulated laser pulse into play only in the case of a preformed channel for guiding the relativistic wave laser. They found self-similar structures to describe the guidance of a relativistic short pulse in a plasma. It has demonstrated the self-guided propagation of Gaussian pulse initially a few plasma periods. It is shown that the ponderomotive force of the plasma wave excited by the laser pulse fomre channel and the flood in the channel has been analyzed in detail. The efficiency of electron acceleration in the laser field and the plasma wave have been compared. The frequency shift of a probe propagating in the wake plasma has been studied in conditions corresponding to actual experiences.
