Propagation d'ondes sismiques dans les bassins sédimentaires: des effets de site à l'interaction site-ville

Abstract : In dense urban areas, seismic wave amplification in alluvial desposits ("site effects") can be additionally strengthened by the buildings vibration at the free surface. Seismic hazard in urban areas could thus be influenced by both site conditions and urban configuration, defining the "Site-City Interaction" (SCI). In this work, site effects are firstly analysed with respect to the basin features especially in the case of the Volvi european test site (Greece). The seismic motion in the city is then investigated through a simplified site-city model (basin assumed one dimensional). Finally, considering a real alluvial basin (center of Nice) and various city models, the response of a more realistic site-city system is characterized taking into account basin effects (trapped surface waves). Basin and city configurations strengthening the "Site-City Interaction" are then analysed and the governing parameters of the problem discussed in details.
