Life, men and land. An essay in biogeoplitic.

Hervé Brédif
Abstract : Despite their power of explanation, theoretical approaches to the ecological crisis are rather poor when it comes to sugesting solutions. The expertise of actors in specific territorial contexts, facing concrete problems, reveals new aspects of the crisis and new means to sole it. Due to their complexity, issues, related to life urge us to tethink in depth our way of tackling them and question the "strategic conditions" to ensure a real management of the quality of life on earth, including human beings. It is us essential to elaborate less normative, more process-oriented approaches, so as to promote the expression of common goals (multiactors, multidimensions, and multiscale process) and to introduce the possibility for a greater freedom of action.
