The study of material purification using melting-solidification technic ''zone melting''.

Abstract : This thesis is dedicated to the study of a transient model that takes into account the multi-dimensional effects of the process of purification by fusion of zone. We studied the effect of the main parameters governing the process of purification, to know: the speed of transfer of sources of heating and cooling, the intensity of heating flux, the intensity of cooling flux, the width of the melted zone and finally the geometric aspect report. These different parameters have a basic impact on the process of purification, on its efficiency and on the degree of purification that is reached after one or several passages of sources. An application in the case of the sige material at a very weak concentration has been simulated with the help of the code of calculation by finite elements castem 2000. The result of this simulation showed the numerical resolution difficulty for a very big lewis number. In order to reach our objective, an important part! Of this study has been dedicated to the determination of a couple (number of lewis in the liquid and report of coefficients of species diffusion) so that the process of the purification is represented correctly. For that to make, we studied the fusion of a slice by an immobile source and chose an appropriate couple of these 2 parameters determinants which allowed us to reach our aim. In order to analyze the effect of each of sizes evoked above on the purification, a second part has been dedicated to the study of the actual purification phase while adopting a parametric study.
