Gestion de données pour la visualisation de maquettes numériques en environnement virtuel immersif: application au design automobile

Abstract : Virtual Reality techniques constitute new tools for the trades of the design of manufactured products and offer profits in term of innovation, time and of money. The industrial stake is the integration of these techniques in the product design process. These techniques must thus be interfaced with the various trade associations and be able to be in phase with the flow of the digital models updates. The technological problems relate to the management of the geometrical data produced by the engineering and design departments in computer-aided design. These data are exhaustive, very numerous and are not easy to handle in a device of virtual reality because of the time constraints of calculation. A digital mock-up, having a quantity of information controlled and dedicated to virtual reality, is then necessary. This work aims to bring methods and tools allowing the use of the techniques of the virtual immersion by the trades of the automotive design. A chain of conversion, simplification and optimization of the data according to the criteria of the trades of the automotive design is proposed for the creation of a digital mock-up dedicated to the virtual immersion. Management in real time of the data of this digital mock-up is carried out according to criteria of visualization of the scene in a context of virtual immersion.
