Offre de travail des enfants et demande d'éducation dans les pays d'Afrique de l'Ouest.

Abstract : This thesis tries to identify the micro-economic determiners of the allocation of the time of the children in Senegal and in Burkina Faso and concentrates more exactly on the effect of the social origin. We observe that the paternal education, carefully instrumented time, increases the educational levels and decreases the participation in the work while the effect of the wealth on the education remains weak. Also, we succeed in identifying no specific effect of the poverty on working time of the children. The ownership of productive active persons is also a determiner importing decisions of child labor, giving evidence of the presence of imperfections of markets: these last ones facilitate the emergence of childish work. Finally, it is delicate to determine if the participation of the children in the work is made to the detriment of their schooling, but an empirical test allows us to conclude that it does not carry damage in the accumulation of human capital.
