Les complexes terminaux de phosphinidène électrophile par cycloréversion: nouvelles approches.

Abstract : In this study, we are exploring the limits of the chemistry of electrophilic terminal phosphinidene complexes. After reviewing the results described in the literature, (theoretical calculations, synthesis and applications), our study is divided in three parts. First, we tried to mimic the phosphinidene chemistry relying on the electrophilicity of the phosphorus atom in the 7-phosphanorbornadiene precursor. Under milder conditions than normal ones, several nucleophiles give the expected compounds but no hard nucleophile can be used. In order to solve this problem, we designed a new structure, the benzophosphanorbornadiene. More resistant, this compound gives some results with hard nucleophiles. Its main interest lies in its decomplexation which gives the first easy thermal access to free phosphinidenes. Finally, we applied what we learnt to the design of a viable pr ecursor for the complex of fluorophosphinidene, the most electrophilic of the series.
