Optimistation par réseaux de neurones du potentiel de découverte du boson de Higgs dans le canal H ->ZZ* ->4e± sur le détecteur CMS, et étude des primitives de déclenchement du calorimètre électromagnétique

Abstract : The first chapter of this thesis presents the theoretical foundations upon which the Higgs mechanism and the characteristics of the boson, as they result from the standard model. The second chapter reports on the experimental research on past, ongoing and planned, to discover the Higgs. The third shows the characteristics of the LHC and those of the CMS detector, both at the end of construction at CERN, focusing on particular parts of the detector implemented to search for the Higgs via the channel H -> ZZ * -> +2- second, that is to say about the tracker and the calorimeter ECAL electronics. The fourth chapter shows how the experiences of an electron beam at CERN helped refine the calibration of the calorimeter ECAL crystal component. The fifth chapter presents the study of the primitive trigger that was used to validate the characteristics of the electronics associated with them. The sixth chapter describes the data analysis leading to the reconstruction of physical events detected by CMS, and extraction of features that will be used for positive identification of the Higgs boson. Conunent then describes the different variants of the code were used, first to select the parameters. remember to optimize the identification signal relative to noise, and also for its actual extraction, which has achieved high rates of rejection of these sounds, which may allow the observation of the Higgs boson .
