Effet de la solubilitÉ de la source du phosphore alimentaire sur l'activitÉ fermentaire dans le rumen et sur son utilisation digestive et metabolique chez la chÈvre laitiÈre

Abstract : This work was carried out to study impacts of phosphorus (P) water solubility in the animal. Phosphorus feeding conditions were extremes, because 70% of fed P were supplied by inorganic phosphates (monocalcium=soluble phosphate and dicalcium=insoluble phosphate). These are uncommon conditions in dairy goat nutrition where inorganic sources only represent a little quantity of total P. Dairy goats in lactation period was used as animal model. The objective of the first study was to determine, impacts of P solubility on rumen fermentation activity and also on bacterial P concentrations. By the first time, the fractional disappearance rates of ruminal P were estimated and postprandial variations of bacterial P content were studied. The objectives of the second study were firstly to determine effects of P solubility on digestive and metabolic utilisation and secondly to precise mobilisationrestoration bone cycle of lactating goats. The phosphorus solubility effect was observed on bacterial activity which was approached by volatile fatty acid kinetics. Mainly, liquidassociated bacteria were affected by low P solubility. Bacteria seem to adapt to P postprandial variations observed on ruminal liquid. No differences were observed on digestive and metabolic utilisation of phosphates. However, differences of bone marker of resorption (cross links of type-I collagen) were observed. These differences could be due to different metabolic utilisation. Further data are needed in order to precise P kinetics into the rumen and ruminal bacteria metabolism. In dairy goat, digestive adaptability to increase P apparent absorption was shown in early lactation. This fact is a considerable difference between goat and sheep, which increase its P absorption around mid lactation.
