Nouveaux diagnostiques pour l'étude de la matière dense et chaude : application aux cibles comprimées par choc laser.

Abstract : My thesis work is dedicated to the development of new techniques of investigation of the dense and hot matter, also known under the acronym WDM (for Warm Dense Matter in English). This regime is on the border between the condensed matter physics and plasma physics. It characterizes by densities ranging between 0.1 and 100 times the density of the solid and temperatures in the range 0.1-100 eV. Our knowledge of the behavior of matter in this regime is not specified although its understanding is essential in different fields of physics. In particular, knowledge of the relationship between pressure, density and temperature, which defines the equation of state (EOS) is a key factor in such important areas as inertial confinement fusion (ICF), lgeophysique, astrophysics and planetary science.
