La mobilité sociale descendante : l'épreuve du déclassement

Abstract : By combining(organizing) quantitative and qualitative analysis, the objective of this thesis is to introduce a sociology of the downward social mobility by questioning more particularly three points. What is the frequency of the phenomenon? What is the experience(experiment) lived by the relegated individuals? What are the political consequences of the social displacement? The results(profits) obtained at the conclusion of the empirical work supply elements of answer to each of these questioning. The measure by ages and by born troops allows to bring to light the progressive degradation of the perspectives of social mobility for the generations been born after 1940s, the most degraded situation were the one generations born in the bend of the 1960s. Concerning the experience(experiment) of the displacement, two types(chaps) of experience(experiment) are distinguished. The lived on the generational mode is the one dropouts who live as belonging to a "sacrificed" generation and who hold a very virulent speech against the school and against the functioning of the company(society) in general. The lived on the mode of the personal failure(defeat) is the one dropouts who live as being the only ones responsible for their trajectory, lived as a failure(defeat) which brings them to multiple questionings and to the temptation of the fold on one.
