Étude de la rétention des radionucléides dans les résines échangeuses d'ions des circuits d'une centrale nucléaire à eau sous pression

Abstract : The fluids flowing through the circuits of nuclear power plants are continuously purified by purification circuits that contain ion-exchange resins. An optimum between limiting liquid waste and production of solid waste has to be achieved, in the same time that limiting the associated costs. Cation-exchange resins selectivity for Co2+, Ni2+, Cs+ et Li+ ions varies with the global resin saturation state. Moreover, the more the flow rate, the more the ionic leakage and the more the spreading of elution fronts. The correct implementation in a reactive transport code HYTEC of the new equilibrium (regular solutions model) and kinetic models (mass transfer coefficient) has been validated with the experimental data. This enables to predict the impact of these phenomena on the retention of elements by an ion-exchange resin column.
