Solides des rejets pluviaux urbains : caractérisation et traitabilité

Abstract : This study has two objectives. The first is to reach a better understanding of the magnitude and variation of: (1) the size, the specific mass and the settlement velocity of solids transported during wet weather downstream in sewer systems; (2) the distribution, in urban stormwater discharge, between dissolved pollution and pollution attached to the solids, as well as the distribution of this pollution between classes of particles. The second objective is to provide ideas for options or technical solutions aiming at creating a plan to combat pollution in urban stormwater discharge. The first part of this thesis is given over to questions of methodology (selection of parameters to be measured, choice of measurement sites, adjustment of measurement and sampling procedures). In the second part we go on to analyze the results obtained for nine rainfull events over four different sites according to their geographical position, to the type of network and to the size of the catchment basin. The last part deals with the following three themes: (1) pollutant loading and associated volumes; (2) identification of the sources of this pollution; (3) dimension and method of management of the capacities to be installed, to intercept and treat the pollution.
