Étude des mécanismes d'endommagement des composites fibres de carbone / matrice polyamide : application à la réalisation de réservoirs de stockage de gaz sous haute pression de type IV

Abstract : Among the different technologies of hydrogen storage, compressed gaseous storage seems to the most mature. Recent developments aim at reducing cost and improving vessels performances and safety. Up to now, the design of structures is carried out considering the initial mechanical properties of the materials and empirical safety coefficients. Thus, material durability and damage resistance are scarcely taken into account during the design step. This study aims not only at increasing the understanding level of damage processes occurring in carbon fibers / polyamide (6 and 12) composite structures for their taking into account during vessels design, but also at identifying material and manufacturing parameters, that can influence structures and properties. In a first step, the mechanical behavior of undamaged materials is analyzed. Then, experimental study correlated with finite elements simulations is realized to determine the kinetics of three damage processes and evaluate their influence on laminates mechanical behavior evolution. In a third step, a filament winding process is developed and the influence of processing parameters on materials structure and properties is assessed. Finally, design of vessels taking into account damages are done to evaluate their influence.
