Etude de l'influence de la paramétrisation des processus turbulents sur la prévision des couches marines superficielles

Abstract : The influence of the parameterisation of the turbulent processes in sea surface layer is studied by comparing results obtained by different turbulence models in various typical conditions. It is found that the hypotheses made deeply affect the detailed description of turbulent process though the forecasted thermal structure remains almost identical. Several simulations were made to analyse the influence of the temporal variability of the air-sea exchanges. The results demonstrate that an accurate description of this variability is a critical factor.
