Modélisation distribuée des flux d'azote sur des petits bassins versants méditerranéens

Abstract : The POL model was developed to determinate the nitrogen loads produced at the outlet of a catchment in Mediterranean climate. The model is based on a conceptual and distributed approach. The catchment is divided into subactchments and river reaches. This delineation allows the distinction between nitrogen production function on subcatchment surfaces and nitrogen transport along the river reaches. The two parameters of POL model are defined for the whole catchment. The nitrogen storage defined for each subcatchment is function of land use and agricultural inputs. The model can be used for event- based or continuous simulations. First of all, a elementary catchment is considered to run a sensitivity analysis on the event-based model. Then, the event-based model is applied on four catchments (43 km² to 67 km²) located in South of France. The results obtained after calibration and verification of the event-based model show good agreement with nitrogen loads monitored during flood events. For continuous simulations, the uncertainty degree of model results is acceptable for a first step of annual nitrogen load diagnosis.
