Etude de la représentation géométrique et texturelle de scènes 3D pour les services de visualisation dans un contexte télécommunicant

Abstract : This doctorate is dealing with composition / visualisation tools for real and synthetic 3D scenes, in a telecommunication context. Recent advances in the virtual reality domain are not able now to process very large data bases. In particular, VRML2 objects are currently send globally, without client/server 3D protocols. But high end 3D services on networks need a constant dialog on the line, in order to send only the parts of the data bases which are really usefull for the users, according to his geometric position in the scene. This research aim to : a - Make analysis of actual algorithms of scalability. b - Make analysis of 3d modelisation, included multi-scale representation. c - Introduce ROI (regions of interest) notion in the scene, to optimize the representation of 3d objects. d - Define and realize an algorithm which generate multiscale geometry adapted to the networks context.
