Composition automatique et adaptative de services web pour la météorologie

Abstract : Data and observations are fundamental elements to advances in science. Data access and sharing is of uttermost importance to researchers. It is presently based on Internet and Web services but the current solutions are not fully satisfactory. Especially in meteorology, there is a gap between needs and information available which can be solved by developping tools allowing to compose services Web between them. This composition makes it possible to achieve tasks impossible with a single service. To meet the expressed needs, a method of composition must be automatic and adaptive, meaning that composition does not have to require human intervention and it must take into account the availability and the results of the Web services executed. To fill this gap, my objectives are to propose, formalize and develop such a method. My first contribution is the formalisation of specific needs for meteorology and the composition of Web services. This thesis points out differences between Web services used in the field of meteorology and Web services usually met in e.g., e-Business. My thesis also proposes a new method of Web services composition to allow the concatenation of data and to propose a means of evaluating the quality of these compositions. Finally, it proposes a method to evaluate the different ways of composition which meets the requirements of meteorology.
