Contribution à la simulation numérique tridimensionnelle du forgeage à chaud : étude du contact et calcul multigrille

Abstract : This work is within the framework of numerical modeling by finite elements of the process of hot forging of metals. The purpose of it is optimization of the software Forge 3 of three-dimensional digital simulation. It is directed around two points blocking for a use of this software: problems of precision on the surface of contact between the part and the tool and a high calculating time. In the first part, we study the problem of the unilateral contact. On the basis of the method of penalization existing, we improve the algorithm of contact by the installation of an implicit algorithm. We validate these developments on several cases of forging where one shows the contribution of the new algorithm in term of precision on the management of surface between the part and the tool. In the second part, wee deal with problem of calculating time. In spite of the installation of a method of parallel computation the time of calculation for a three-dimensional simulation remain very high. Our work thus consisted in replacing the solvor of minimal residual type implemented in Forge 3 by a method asymptotically optimal based on the use of multigrid. We developed an original method using the method of minimal residual like smoother and a method of grid refinement for the construction of the various levels. We optimized this algorithm by introducing in particular a preconditioner using an incomplete Crout factorization for the resolutions on the coarse grid. The results obtained with two-grids on various cases of forging are excellent and the few results on a calculation with three levels of grid are very encouraging.
