Abstract : This thesis presents the realisation of an experimental apparatus for atom detection with an optical micro cavity on atom chip. The atom chip is a substrate where wires and the micro cavity are fabricated with lithographic techniques. This chip will allow to trap, manipulate and transport atoms aided with magnetic potentials generated by currents in these wires. The atom chip which is developed will allow transporting atoms toward the optical cavity where they can be in strongly interact with the cavity light field. The resonator is an optical waveguide with mirrors deposited at the both ends. A trench is made in the waveguide to let atoms interact with electromagnetic field. This manuscript presents the fabrication and the characterisation of such a cavity. A theoretical investigation estimates the cavity finesse and the figure of merit of the atom-cavity system. Calculations show that in certain cases, single atom detection, is possible.
