Basc-our, Il s'agissait de confronter nos réflexions grâce à des regards extérieurs et rompus à l'expérience de l'interdisciplinarité, mais aussi de discuter des résultats d'un questionnaire soumis au préalable à des doctorants en sciences de l'environnement. Deux jours d'atelier avec sept doctorants interdisciplinaires en sciences de l'environnement, une post-doctorante et une ingénieure d'étude préparant une candidature de thèse, ont prolongé les échanges. L'atelier avait pour objectif d'illustrer par des partages d'expériences comment se manifeste aujourd'hui l'interdisciplinarité pratiquée par les doctorants en sciences de l'environnement, à en expliciter les implications pour les doctorants, et proposer des pistes pour pallier les défis posés par la pratique de l'interdisciplinarité. Nous revenons dans cet article sur la démarche et les objectifs de l'ensemble de ce projet (conférence et atelier), qui visait à : -Recenser les pratiques de l'interdisciplinarité mobilisées par les doctorants en sciences de l'environnement en France aujourd'hui : méthodes de collecte et d'analyse des données, mode de travail (collectif, individuel), etc. ; 43 www.ese.u-psud.fr scientifiques portant sur l'interdisciplinarité 44 , ainsi que celle des structures de recherche interdisciplinaires 45, Organisée par les auteurs de cet article, doctorants du laboratoire Écologie, Systématique, et Évolution 43 , elle avait pour objectif de mettre en débat les pratiques de recherche interdisciplinaires lors de la thèse, 2008.

Cependant, nous souhaitions disposer d'un point de vue complémentaire sur les implications de l'interdisciplinarité lors de la réalisation de la thèse de doctorat, à l'instar du choix de la direction de thèse, des formations doctorales, ou de la stratégie de publication. Nous souhaitions donc mieux connaître la diversité des pratiques et des compromis mis en oeuvre par les autres doctorants se revendiquant de l'interdisciplinarité en sciences de l'environnement. Nous n'avons pas voulu reproduire des initiatives déjà menées ailleurs, mais plutôt tenter de les compléter à notre mesure et à travers notre regard de jeunes chercheurs

, Il s'agissait notamment de décrire les pratiques des doctorants aux moments clés de la thèse (préparation du sujet, mode de travail, choix des publications, méthodologies, etc.) ; d'apprécier la prédominance de l'interdisciplinarité « de proximité » entre disciplines voisines (e.g. écologie et géologie, chimie et biologie) ou « élargie » (e.g. histoire et génétique, climatologie et sociologie) ou encore de retracer les trajectoires de formation. Le questionnaire comportait 31 questions, certaines à choix multiples, d'autres ouvertes permettant aux répondants de s'exprimer librement, et réparties en quatre parties : « Votre thèse, Le questionnaire visait à caractériser les méthodes de recherche des doctorants interdisciplinaires en France. Pour pouvoir analyser ces résultats à partir d'un échantillon comparable, nous avons restreint l'échantillon des doctorants à ceux qui se reconnaissaient dans la pratique des « sciences de l'environnement, 2018.
