Optimisation des paramètres de déroulage du douglas et modélisation des propriétés mécaniques de panneaux de LVL intégrant les données sylvicoles

Abstract : Douglas fir was established massively in France around 50 years ago. The proportion of large tree, due to aging of the stands, will increase in the years to come. Part of this resource will not correspond to the supplies sought by the largest sawmills and will depreciate. Peeling process is well suited for the enhancement of this resource. In France, Douglas fir is not a peeled species due to its recent maturity. Veneers can be used to make plywood panels, but also LVL. A study of the optimal peeling parameters was necessary in order to obtain quality veneers. Then, a model taking into account the silvicultural data of a stand was developed in order to estimate the mechanical properties of LVL beams. It was used to predict the mechanical properties of beams made with trees from three plots of "contrasting" silvicultural routes. A simulation of a 20-year pruning on these trees shows the value of using this decision-support tool for managing forest stands.
