Modélisation multi-physique et commande d'une pompe à membrane ondulante

Abstract : Background: CorWave is a company which is developing a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), based on an ondulating membrane pumping technology. The device consist of a polymer membrane deformed by the actuation of a electromagnetic linear actuator. The resulting deformation wave of the membrane create fluid's circulation. Following a proof of concept stage, the company is developing the device for it's first implantation on a human subject. Objectives: Creation of a multiphysics model to link the fluid-structure interaction inside the pump head to the electromagnetic actuation. The model shall be used to develop control laws for the device with limited measurements. The control law shall include criterion such as efficiency, durability and biocompatibility. Planning: pump modelling, control law development, estimators/observers creation to reduce the number of required sensors to control the device. update of the control law to include damage detection.
