Contribution à l’étude du phénomène de fermeture de porosités en laminage à chaud : mise en place d’une modélisation expérimentale et numérique à représentativité améliorée

Abstract : The present work is dedicated to the understanding of the void closure mechanism during the hot rolling of bars issued from continuous casting processes. A representative experimental testing was developed to reproduce the key parameters involved in the porosity evolution during the industrial forming. These parameters were identified throughout a bibliographic study and concern the thermomechanical path depicted by the stress triaxiality and the strain and the void's physical and geometrical properties. The representativeness of the experiment is improved by using samples containing a shrinkage cavity formed during a dedicated casting process. The characterisation of the pore closing mechanism is performed by comparing the experimental evolution of cavities analysed by tomography with full-field FEM-modelling carried out using the “real” geometry of the cavities. A methodology combining the representative test experiment's design to reproduce the key parameters of the rolling process analysed and its full field modelling was developed. This methodology aims the identification of the parameters of mean fields void evolution model through the setting up of experimental design of testing and simulations to improve the pore closure efficiency during the rolling process.
