Contribution au développement du cadre méthodologique de la conception biomimétique : intégration de l’expertise des profils formés au Design pour favoriser le déploiement de l’approche dans les pratiques de conception et d’innovation

Abstract : Although promising and increasingly evolving, the implementation of biomimetics and the biomimicry approach remains complex and encounters numerous methodological and practical obstacles. In this context, this thesis explores how the integration of designers in design teams can help the deployment of biomimetics. This line of research has allowed us to define the role of designers in the framework of biomimetics projects, in particular to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and the generation of concepts inspired by the living world. To facilitate their integration and to structure the global contributions of Design for Biomimetics, methodological and organisational recommendations are proposed. In addition, a set of modifications to the unified problem-driven biomimetic design process have been formalised so that it can be adapted to design and innovation practices. The results of this research allow us to jointly enrich the scientific and industrial fields of biomimetics. This work opens up short, medium and long term research perspectives to develop research on the role and impacts of designers and design in biomimetics, on the development of the methodological framework and finally on the switch between biomimetics and biomimicry.
