Modélisation d’une démarche de re-conception d’organisation avec intégration du facteur de cohérence.

Abstract : Organizations today are facing multiple challenges (climate and societal issues, globalization, increased competition, sustainable development, acceleration, digitalization), which push decision-makers to adopt new strategies. These strategies take the form of strong organizational changes, which are fueled by new managerial fashions. Through their design choices, decision-makers seek to have a coherent and efficient organization.The classical approaches to organization design are then challenged: the knowledge of organization theory is fragmented and not well fitted to practice, and the classical approaches to system design are not tailored to the design of organizations.On the one hand, we wish to help organization design practitioners to address the demands they encounter, by providing them with a generic organization design approach and adapted tools that will allow them to design organizations that meet the needs of managers. On the other hand, we participate in the construction of actionable knowledge on organizations, seeking to strengthen managerial practices from a design approach.We deploy an action-research approach to identify the essential design variables to be integrated into an organizational redesign process, and to propose a coherence criteria that can be used as a tool for analysis and decision support to clarify design choices, all based on known system design approaches. We thus propose a configurable organization design approach, capable of addressing any type of request, accompanied by a coherence measurement tool to ensure the adequacy between the designed organization and the managers' needs.Keywords: Organization design, Organizational coherence, Organizational diagnosis, Organizational fit, Double Diamond, Decision making support tool
