Développement d’une méthodologie pour l’évaluation et la maîtrise des impacts sanitaires et environnementaux des polymères destinés à un usage en mer : application à l'ostréiculture

Abstract : According to the scientific literature, marine plastics release micro and nano-plastics and chemical substances, potentially transferred or bioaccumulated into marine organisms, which is a potential source of concern. Moreover, marine aquaculture uses many plastic equipment, which must be recycled at their end of life (cf. Directive (EU) 2019/904). In this context, any new plastic equipment designed for aquaculture must be eco-designed and be part of a circular economy. This work proposes a systemic and use-driven eco-design methodology, developed to control the health and environmental potential impacts, the durability (physical integrity) and the recyclability of polymer materials used in aquaculture. it consists of four steps: 1- a scientific assessment of the risks associated with the use of the material, 2- the identification of control points for these risks, 3- the development of preventive actions, 4- the definition of procedures for checking their control, including biometric and chemical analysis as part of an in situ experiment.
