Discrétisation spatio-temporelle du problème thermique à deux champs : application au procédé de forgeage à chaud

Abstract : Many challenges and difficulties persist in the numerical simulations, and particularly during hot forging processes simulation, when strong thermomechanical couplings must be taken into account. But this thematic is still few or badly treated with the classical softwares (problems of stability and convergence due to large nonlinear thermomechanical couplings). Therefore, this work mainly consists in the improvement of a solving methods for the thermal problem with a good compromise between the precision of the temperature field and the calculate time. For this study, three numerical methods are implemented in the Forge 3 software. They are based on a mixed formulation with two fields, temperatre/heat flux, to describe the unsteady thermal problem. - Two models based on the Discontinuous Galerkin method and the P0 constant finite element are firstly presented: # Explicit Taylor Discontinuous Galerkin (TDG) with a mixed finite element P0/P0 and an explicit Taylor expansion, Implicit Discontinuous Galerkin model (GDIMP): our first improved TDG method with a more local formulation for the flux estimation (interpolation P0/P+0 ) and a farther convergence (implicit Euler scheme). - Our original formulation, the Mixed Continuous Formulation based on the linear mixed finite element P1/P1 and an implicit time integration. These three numerical models are described, evaluated, validated (analytical solutions or experimental results) and compared with a serious and critical discussion (define the most appropriate, robust and efficient method for the hot forging process simulation).
