Application de la chimie radicalaire des xanthates à la synthèse et à la fonctionnalisation de systèmes cycliques et polycycliques.

Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to demonstrate the potential of xanthate radical chemistry, in the functionalization and the synthesis of various cyclic and polycyclic systems. It has been possible to combine interestingly ionic and radical chemistry to create quickly and easily complex and highly functionalized molecules. The first part of this thesis concerns the functionalization of four-membered ring. This study, beginning with the discovery of a new mechanism specific to cyclobutanones, finally ends with the adjustment of a new methodology of stereoselective ring enlargement. The second part of this work deals with the formation of polycyclic structures, by radical cyclizations, thanks to the xanthate chemistry. Numerous complex skeletons of terpenes have then been approached. A new way toward the stereoselective functionalization of cyclic systems thanks to this methodology has also been opened in this thesis.
